I hate that the iPhone doesn’t come default with an option to display locale holiday calendars.

You’re able to purchase and download an app that contains the Holidays of your choice, OR you simply subscribe to a calendar that has the Holidays pertaining to your locale.

I opted for the latter. And here’s how you can too.

How-To Subscribe to US Holiday Calendar ICS:

  1. Tap the “Settings” icon
  2. Tap “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”
  3. Scroll down and tap “Add Account”
  4. Tap “Other” at the very bottom
  5. Tap “Add Subscribed Calendar” at the very bottom
  6. In the server field, input: – or the URL to the *.ics file of the Calendar you wish to subscribe to and then tap “Next”
  7. (Optional) You can then change the name of the calendar under “Description” – then tap Save

Yep. It’s that easy.
And free.

You can find thousands of calendars to subscribe to online using Google and searching for an ICS.

Using 43 Things for Goal Setting in the New Year | Courtney Social Media Consultant in Los Angeles

Last year was an interesting year for me. I learned a lot about my health and myself. I learned about the things I do like, as well as the things that I don’t like; whether it was about myself or the people around me.

I’m not setting a New Years Resolution. It never works for me. I end up selecting either one bad thing or creating a list of things that I won’t do, instead of things that I will do. The list of “wonts” just never works for me.

So, I’m doing things a little differently this year. I’m setting some goals that I’d like to meet this year. And then I’m going to make the strides to reach them. I’m creating my list of goals in my 43 Things ( account. And I’ll be checking in each week to either check a goal off, add a goal, or remind myself of the goals I’ve set.

I like 43 Things because I can check the list from the web or from my BlackBerry and iPhone. I can even modify that list on the go. I’m even able to write notes on each goal and receive comments and cheers from friends on Facebook. My notes will be the steps I’ve taken as I’ve taken them. I can even edit a progress slider to indicate how far I’ve gotten in reaching each goal. 43 Things makes goal setting much easier.

My goals will be short term goals that I can reach; goals that I can see and almost touch. Ya see, it’s easy for me to set the goals and get things in motion, but I have a hard time with the follow through. The largest goal that I have set by far is to follow through on the goals that I set in motion.

This year will be better.
I’ve got a primer now.

Let’s go.

Chase Mobile Update Solves Badge Issue | Courtney Social Media Consultant in Los Angeles

The Chase Mobile App Update solves the “issue” that I had with their badges.

Quite frankly, I disabled Push Notifications on the Chase Mobile
application because it was like jumping through hoops just to view the
actual notifications in order to clear the badge. It shouldn’t take
that long to access the micky ficky.

But now, Chase Mobile App clears the badge as soon as you login.

…maybe they DO listen to their customers
…when it benefits them to do so. ;)

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out the new Mobile Website.

And if you haven’t, you’re slacking!

We LOVE it!

You can see all that you need to from the mobile version.

Prior to the release of OS 4.1, was desktop only. You would receive

the infamous flash required error when accessing the website from iPhone. But now, you have access to all of the same information that you would see on regular desktop view.

Maybe in the future they’ll add links to user’s profiles? Yum!

We’re glad they’ve stepped things up a notch! It’s about time!
